Last nite's concert...

Last nite's concert was superb, it redefines my perception on concerts. For the first time in my life, ive attended a concert  filled with Praises and the adoration of our Creator, ALLAH the Almighty...Subhanallah...the ambience was beautiful and the energy was strong yet peaceful...

I arrived at the Maher Zain's concert carnival approximately at 7pm, stopped by a few booths selling Islamic books and cds and dvds. I was amazed as i looked at all of the goods being sold at the carnival, I am not saying that the goods were extraordinary or luxurious, i was referring to how appealing it all looked, the layout, the energy it projected...the colourful banners and of course the colourful people..

One striking yet not a peculiar scene during the carnival was the long queue of Muslim guys waiting for their turn to carry out the Ablution or wudu', this was due to the fact that the wudu' area is just beside the praying tents, furthermore the Maghrib prayers was approaching. It was an amazing sight, long queues and there were more Muslimin and Muslimat praying in an open area, spreaded their mats and proceeded with their prayers...it was filled with serenity...

In the tents where the food sellers were located, people flocked there with excitement, i could understand the reasons why people were looking so hungry and their high level of interest in the simple food being sold, perhaps it was due to the flow of energy, enthusiasm and also anticipation while waiting for the concert to commence... I was hungry actually, then ive decided to just buy myself 2 pieces of currypuffs although the Sup Tulang and Lamb kebab did look amazingly delicious....

As I was standing beside the stage where the backdrop was a picture of Maher Zain holding a microphone, ive decided to snap a photo, however snapping my own photo would have made me look funny, so ive asked one of the two guys who were standing nearby. One of the most remembered moments prior to the concert was when those two guys were looking excruciatingly reluctant, (looking almost like they were ready to run away) in accepting my request and that was to snap a few pictures of myself standing on the stage with Maher Zain's backdrop. Finally, one of them who was gentleman enough agreed to snap few pictures as i handed my camera to him. I thanked the gentleman and ask him and his friend were they also waiting for their turns to carry out the ablution? They replied that they already carried out their ablution, then it struck me where ive got my answer pertaining to their peculiar behaviours, i was thinking it was just a simple request and dont tell me that it would create a big scene...finally, that hesitant look was due to fact that they were in a state of ablution....ooooh i seeeee....

8.15pm, entered the stadium and immediately looked for my seat...Thank Allah for giving me a seat which was facing the centre of the stage. While waiting for the stadium to be filled with people, i prayed that hopefully the person who is going to sit in the front seat is not a big sized person, guess what? yup, it was a big tree who sat in front of me...cry cry cry...moral of the story...you attract what you think....huhuuhuhu.....but a miracle happened, 20 mins later, the lady beside me got up and sat next to her friend which was 5 seats away.... how lucky i was...so i got up and moved to the next seat and i had the best view....Thank you Allah...

With all of the sing along, tried to control myself of not to move too much or sing too loud, the concert was a blast....breathtaking performances, Maher Zain was mesmerizing, another singer known as Mesut Curtis with his lovely voice projection and melodious songs, happiness filled the air as the Praises and Thanks to the Lord of the Heavens and Earth lingered for approximately 3 hours......

The experience as a whole...it can be summarised as superb and amazing!

Thank you Allah for the opportunity!

bagaimana nak berhenti merungut?

 wahai sahabat2ku,

1. duit= ada, walaupun tak banyak, tapi cukup2 untuk bayar hutang;
2. kereta = satu jek, kadang2 ada 2 atau 3
3. handphone= 2-3, bergantung kepada misi penggunaan..heeheh
4. card credit= 2-3, bergantung, kadang2 dapat free jek...
5. kelengkapan rumah= lengkap, kadang2 ada 2-3 televisyen..
6. kasut= minimum 5, kadang2 boleh mencapai 30 pasang..
7. baju= tak terkira, tak ingat bila beli dan bila kali terakhir pakai....huhuhu
8. keluarga= sudah tentu keluarga penyayang
9. pendidikan= bagus2 belaka

3. cari kenalan2 baru, bertukar idea dan fikiran...rapatkan ukhwah sesama muslim as we are Brothers and Sisters in Islam and among non-Muslims, we are Brothers and Sisters in Humanity...

Praise the Lord of the Heavens and Earth...

act right now

People say that it's always hard to change
they'd rather drown in misery and cry in pain
coz you know that you will never get what you want
if you always turn around and run..

chorus
if you want to change your future
you better act right now
never look back...
coz it's just human nature
in any cold hot weather
we rather be off track...

(still working on the lyrics...hhuuuhu)

what should we do in panic and dispair?

In a state of depression a believer, is advised to do the following:-

1. Increase remembrance of God (dhikr) :He guides to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence those who have believed and whose heart have rest in the remembrance of God. Verily in the remembrance of God, do hearts find rest (13:27-28)

2. Be constant in  prayers: "O you who believe, seek help with steadfastness and prayer. For God is with those who are steadfast" (2:153)

3. Pray to God for Forgiveness: "And I have said: Seek forgiveness from your Lord. Lo He was ever forgiving" (71:10). In addition to the above "Surely God does not change the condition in which people are until they change that which is in themselves" (13:11)

Prophet Muhammad's prayers during stress

All the prophets, being human beings, had to undergo tests and trials which resulted in temporary stress. They constantly remembered God and received peace through His remembrance. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for example, himself used and advised his followers to use the following prayerss in time of distress.

"God is sufficient for us. He is an excellent guardian. We repose our trust in God".

"Surely we belong to God and to Him shall we return. O God, I beseech you for the reward of my hardship. Reward me and compensate me for it with something good".

pakai helmet tanpa menunggang motosikal..

rosita : ye, ayah saya, kenapa encik?
pegawai polis : kenapa dia tak tukar nama dia? kenapa masih Michael?
rosita : nama tidak menentukan keimanan, encik.

i can still vividly remember this conversation though it took place approximately 9 years ago.  i was accompanying my late father to lodge a report on an accident which took place in our own house. my late father due to his sickness, couldnt differentiate between the accelerator and brakes and he stepped on the accelerator while he was driving our kenari onto the car porch area.

my point is...just because my late father's name is Michael does not make him a less Muslim.   He was the greatest father and my bestest (if there is such a word) friend...the most generous......gentle..funny..loving...adorable..understanding..honest person and the list goes on and on....

so, the problem here is about  the cruel and harsh perception of ignorant people...the norm would be if your name is not an Arab name, then you are considered second class Muslim...wait wait...second class? who came out with that class? just because i'm Rosita Michael, not Rosita Ahmad, or Rosita Ali or Rosita Seman or Rosita Samsudin...that makes me a less committed Muslim? what about Khalid Al-Walid? before and after Islam, he didnt change his name and he was a warrior of Islam....think about that...

i've read somewhere that to judge a man, listen to his questions not his answers...the person who asked me (refer to the above conversation) why my late father's name is still Michael...the question reflected his personality and his level of thinking....let's pray that the person is not that ignorant anymore...

the most astonishing conversation i had was with a pakcik....we were having the following conversation:-

pakcik: ayah kamu tak join ke perbincangan hari ni?
me: ayah saya baru saje meninggal dua minggu lepas...
pakcik: innalillah...takziah pada kamu sekeluarga..
me: terima kasih pakcik..
pakcik: kenapa nama ayah kamu Michael?
me: memang itu nama dia...

here comes the best question ever....(he could win an award for best question of the century)
pakcik: masa dia meninggal, dia mengucap tak?
me: .........zzzzzzzzz......kuci kuci yaayayay....wkakaka...natahahpahapantah...
imagine how i felf??????

i felt numb....not only he has insulted my late father ...also because of the super intelligent question from his super intelligent self proclaimed religious mind....

my point is... who is dat pakcik who had the guts to come up with that question? from my observation this shows how ignorant people who think that their level of understanding and practice of Islam is better than others (ujub dan takbur) allows them to do so....what a pity....

this story of mine coincides with some of the writings of a Muslim writer known as Sheikh Muhammad Al-Gazali, he wrote:-
-Religion, only fully benefit those who are capable of understanding them in their pure (original form);
- Good perception of religious facts as they were revealed, has to be coupled with the sincerity in implementing them;
- Those so called scholars, may try to show us the way to the truth, but not able to take us to it....(the pakcik represents one of these people)

i want to remind myself and my dear friends, students, readers that Islam is about submitting ourselves to ALLAH...please do ourselves a favour for the sake of Islam...and that is to accept the fact that the difference in the names and races is the beauty of Islam.......therefore, apa ada pada nama?
